Hi, I am not sure if feasible, but it would be amazing if the VCO mixer could be driven into saturation by hotter VCO signals. In addition to achieving tones with only one vco saturated, it would allow to use chorus, flanger, phaser together with saturated tones…
Hello prophonic,
Welcome to the forum!
This would be nice, but I am not sure if this is technically possible to change in a firmware update. I will ask about it though.
The only way to saturate/drive pre-effects is via the filters Brute Factor and Disto knobs.
Thank you for your suggestion.
Hi Joe,
thank you for your quick response.
In the studio we have an old EMS Synthi A, and part of its beautiful sound is, that there is a little bit of saturation at each junction: vco level, mixer summing, vcf input, vca input, etc
Regarding Polybrute - to my understanding, since there is no A/D conversion before digi effects, this would simply overload the mixer before the filters, hopefully in a pleasant way.
Thanks again for relaying to devs.
