Exposing Pigments' Controls in Ableton - Limited? Workaround?

Hello folks. I am new to DAWs, music production and the intricacies of MIDI. I am however enjoying Pigments, my first synth VST.

I’m noticing that only a subset of PIgments’ controls are exposed to Ableton. As an obvious example, none of the macro controls can be assigned through the relevant Pigments instrument object in Ableton. Or at least, I can’t do so. But maybe I’m missing something.

A few questions:

  1. Is it the case that only a limited Pigments controls are exposed?
  2. Is there a workaround whereby I can control any (or most) of the controls and parameters in Pigments through my midi controller?
  3. (and this is out of pure curiosity) why is it that only a subset of controls is exposed to Ableton?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Salter.

To expose more controls:

  1. Add Pigments to a track in Ableton.
  2. In the Pigments device panel at the bottom of the Ableton window, click the “Unfold Device Parameters” (little triangle) button. The device panel will expand, showing any previously exposed controls.
  3. Click the newly exposed “Configure” button in the device title bar. The Configure button will turn green and the plug-in window should be displayed.
  4. Now in the Pigments plug-in, click any controls you want to expose. The new controls will be added to the Ableton device window. These controls will now be available to set envelopes for, to adjust using Push, etc.
  5. Click the Configure button again to stop adding new controls.
  6. If you’d like to keep all these controls exposed every time you use Pigments, right-click on the device title bar, and select “Save as Default Configuration”.
