Exporting midi from sequencer Pigments 6

Hi! How do I export MIDI notes from the Pigments 6 sequencer into Cubase Elements 13?
When I try to record MIDI, Pigments starts making strange sounds and works as if it’s broken.

To export MIDI from the Pigments VST seq/arp, you can set up a second MIDI track to capture the MIDI output from Pigments. Unfortunately, I don’t think Pigments has a way to simply drag and drop the MIDI from the sequencer into a new MIDI clip (that would be a cool addition).

As far as “making strange sounds” and “broken”, are you trying to play an existing MIDI clip through Pigments with the sequencer active? Each new MIDI note will restart the sequence, so if your MIDI clip has notes shorter than the sequence length, you’ll end up constantly hearing the sequence restart when you may not want it to. You’ll probably either want to play the notes in your MIDI clip and turn the sequencer off, or your clip should only contain single long notes that last for the duration you want the sequence to play.

Thank you for your response! I’ve tried capturing and recording MIDI notes in various ways, including with an active sequencer and different sending options, but Pigments just starts distorting the sound. You’re absolutely right that it would be great if they added such a feature. But at the moment, it feels like a headache.

I managed to record the notes in Cubase. You need to enable monitoring on the MIDI track, set up the input on the MIDI track, and enable recording.
