I don’t know if it’s just me but the whole site has just switched everything over to showing just Euro €. Before it would show me everything in $ and and didn’t require to pay and extra 4% conversion fee to buy something. Now it is charging in € so I am getting hit with no only the conversion rate but an extra conversion charge. I don’t know they are throwing VAT on top of that.
What is annoying is that I am still getting emails saying the price of things in $ so I think it might be some setting thing in the web site that now makes it think that I am a Europe person even though it says a the top English USA
For me it only shows that it’s paying for it in €29. then converting it back to $34.39 (with 4% conversion rate)
yes its not a whole heap of money but to me it just feels wrong to send me an email saying I can buy it for $29, but when you put it into the cart is says effectively OH, you have to buy it in Euro and we are going to conveniently exchange it back to Dollars and its going to cost you more than we advertised. it an 18% cost increase. And if going forward its going to do this for everything, then asking me to start paying 18%+ more on everything when the bill might be double that or eight times that, the $5 starts to jump up to quite a bit more.
Here in my little corner of the US, it shows prices in dollars. But, the $ symbol is on the wrong side of the number. Here, if something costs one hundred dollars, it’s supposed to be $100, but the website is showing 100$. Something must be borked in the localization settings for their website content management system.
From the looks of it, it’s now tied to my account. I tried logging into Arturia from a different computer that I haven’t used in years. it came up showing everything in $ Dollars, but as soon as I log into my actual account with this computer, it flips everything over to Euro €.
I guess it’s the way I am setup now. I am thinking there has been some decision in Arturia corporate on how they are going to sell going forwards. I also need to make the decision I guess of do I have enough plugin TOYS to make music well enough to keep me happy and just stop looking for if there is something new. I know I have more sounds than I can ever use in my lifetime and more than enough different instruments to craft even more if I ever learn how to.
If you go to the website, log into your account, and go to “My Preferences”, is the country listed correctly in all the boxes? It needs to be right in the box in the upper left, as well as in the Main Addresses box.
Are you logging in from a country other than the US (I’m assuming you’re in USD) or are you using a VPN that may be making it appear that you’re somewhere else?
Right now I live in Canada. All my purchases up until this point have all been in US dollars. As I had pointed out, Arturia has sent me an email to my linked account that has not changed in the past 2 years that I have been a customer with them.
IF they are going to send me an email to my address saying that I can buy the REV_Ocean for $29. then I would like and expect that I can buy the product for $29. If they had said it was 29€ then I would know that was the price. But they said in DOLLARS.
I have purchased everything in the past in US dollars . But all of a sudden I am not forced to start paying in Euro’s.
I’m also from the never will be 51th state. I’ve always paid in USD.
I had a post on this issue; the post was rightfully closed when the comments got a bit tense and personal.
In USD, Ocean would be 19 USD (27,01 CAD)
It is 19 euro (31,97 $CA) with a 1$ conversion fee.
It’s a 5$ increase. Not much but it will be an increase on all products.
In all fairness, they should charge the US customers in Euros.
The US is charging tariffs on Canada and the EU and they get a bonus?
I come from a family of lawyers and judges. It is hard to swallow.
I’ll be choosing carefully what I buy.
Yes Joseph, it shows in Euros and in CAD but it’s higher than the price I would pay in USD.
Why a bonus to US customers not charged in Euros when they’re tariffing the EU, Canada and the rest of the world? It’s a double standard.
If I buy a piano from French Moddart (Pianoteq), I’ll be charged 49 USD (69 CAD).
If I buy Session Horns Pro from German Native, they charge 299 Euros, 299 USD or 389 CAD (it should be 425!). 299 Euros would be 483 CAD.
I got an email from Gaby saying a fabricated LIE that they send out email saying price in $/€ that is clearly not true. I got burnt last year with my Midi controller from Arturo that they refused to fix while under warranty. Again, it’s a case of deception by printing a warranty obligation that they had no intention to honour. I would suggest the only option going forwards is to simply not use the product, or if it so fits your desire, consider other forms of licensing (perhaps piracy) if that is your only other option. I know for myself that I do not see myself wanting to purchase new products from Arturia nor recommend it to anyone else.
