I have deleted and re-installed, to no avail.
cannot get passed this error.

Do you by “delete” mean uninstall?
Have you tried to uninstall ASC and then install ASC again? Sometimes it make a difference, if you restart the computere between the uninstall and reinstall.

Hi,
I’m having the same problem and my synths are opening unregistered…
Error 01 - The ASC background service is unreachable.
If the problem persists, you might have to reinstall the ASC.
I have tried uninstalling, restarting my computer, but the same error appears.

After following your link and looking further I discovered that the ASC was turned off in Login items. It sorted the problem thanks.
