Combining Arpeggiator and Sequencer

Hi! I came across a very interesting YT-Video in which someone described how to combine the matrix arpeggiator with the sequencer. However, the video is shot from a position where at times it is impossible to see what buttons he activates. In a nutshell: he takes over ARP patterns into the sequencer, there he copies the pattern to arrive at 64 steps, then goes back to the matrix arpeggiator to manipulate the patterns, then goes back to sequencer to play it. This is quite an impressive feature of the matrixbrute, but it is nowhere to be found in the manual. (Or I am too dumb). Here ist the video:

At 1:42 he copies the arp pattern into the sequencer, the duplicates it and then again duplicates thes 32 steps to get 64. Unfortunately, his hand conceals the buttons he is pressing :frowning:
Does anyone know how he does that?
Cheers,
Alex

The Matrix Arpeggiator (MxArp for short) is described in the manual, chapter “5.3.4. Matrix Arpeggiator”. That chapter may be a bit too brief though. Knowing how to use the sequencer may make it easier.

Also, having the MatrixBrute Cheat Sheet handy may be helpful:

When you have a MxArp pattern you’re happy with, Just press the Sequencer button, and the pattern will be copied over. Initially you get the 16 steps from the MxArp pattern, but this can be copied to the remaining sequencer steps by this shortcut, taken from the Cheat Sheet:
Hold SEQ Length + Press [>] = Extend & Duplicate SEQ content
If you do this 3 times you’ve filled out all 64 steps. Use SEQ Length to select the number of steps to play (also works in the MxArp):
Hold SEQ Length + Press Step = Change Sequence Length

When doing these sort of things I like to clear the seq/arp first:
Hold Panel + Press SEQ button = Reset Sequence

“The Matrix Arpeggiator (MxArp for short) is described in the manual, chapter “5.3.4. Matrix Arpeggiator”. That chapter may be a bit too brief though. Knowing how to use the sequencer may make it easier.”

Neither of those chapters (SEQ and ARP) describe how to get an arp pattern into the sequencer or to copy a sequence. Of course, these were the very first items I checked for a soulution.

“Also, having the MatrixBrute Cheat Sheet handy may be helpful:”

Indeed, the cheat sheet is the ONLY documentation where this is implicitely mentioned. This is not a good solution, since normally a cheat sheet contains only button functions etc., but no description of a produre. A cheat sheet is no manual. In all manuals of all my other synths those procedures are explained in the manual.

“When you have a MxArp pattern you’re happy with, Just press the Sequencer button, and the pattern will be copied over.”

This is absolutely nowhere mentioned in the manual. Not in the cheat sheet either.

And it does not say how to copy the pattern into e.g. steps 33-38.

If I hadn’t come across the YT video, I would never have known that it is possible to move arp patterns into the sequencer - this is nowhere mentioned in the manual, and none of my other synths can do that.

Anyway, thanks for the help!
Cheers,
Alex
