After cleaning out everything in my AstroLab Library and deleting the factory demo playlist, I can’t find a way to restore all the factory instruments that came with the instrument. Restoring the 1.5 update didn’t restore them. Tried that twice now.
All the types, instruments, etc on my AstroLab wheel are blank.
Any playlists I create in AnalogLab and move to my Astro work fine but none of the presets show up on the display. AnalogLab says they were moved but I can’t see them. The Astro library still shows empty.
If I manually copy all MY custom presets from AnalogLab to the Astro then THEY show up in the library, but still no factory instruments. Even more confusing is when I select a type or instrument on the Astro wheel it just returns a list of all my custom presets.
Something isn’t right and I haven’t been able to get the factory stuff to show up again. Using the Initialize all settings in the Utility menu didn’t do anything either.
Any ideas?

If you’re wondering why I deleted everything in my AstroLab Library in the first place, well I had no idea it would remove all the factory instruments. No other keyboard I’ve ever owned, (and I’ve owned them from every major manufacturer), would let you remove factory sounds.
I just assumed I was cleaning the library of excess AnalogLab downloaded presets put there during my initial learning experience.
HI @stuart.renes
Not being an AstroLab owner myself, and after a bit of a scan of the manual, it sounds like it would be a good idea to log in to your account to contact Arturia Support to see if they can point you in the right direction.
Yeah, did that. No response from them yet, but it’s only been 48 hours.
In defense of this keyboard, I had been listening to my new playlist (63 songs, 83 presets) through a pair of cheap headphones and it all seemed a bit dull.
When I moved it to my studio mixer it came alive. Every bit as good (possibly better) sounding than my Yamaha M.
The modeling of their B3 even includes the faint 60Hz hum those old vacuum tube devices suffered. Fantastic.

I’d give them until the middle of next week, being realistic, let us know if you haven’t had any joy by then.
Great to see that you’e enjoying it though, that aside!
I’m in regular contact with them on several fronts so that’s not a problem. I’ve also traded emails with Pierre, the Astrolab product manager. These are good folks who certainly appear focused on making the Astrolab an even better product in the near future.

Just reading a older post snippet from Lily:
”…the Factory bank of AstroLab in Analog Lab has been carefully crafted"
seems to imply that there is an Astrolab factory preset section in AnalogLab. But how to find it? Since I have the full V collection in AnalogLab I have over 13,000 presets.
I’ve tried searching using a “factory” keyword but that didn’t work. Perhaps I need to try ” Astrolab"?
Hi Stuart,
The AstroLab factory is a different curated selection of presets, optimised for the keyboard. So you can’t search for them within the main Analog Lab Pro software. You can see these when browsing on the AstroLab itself (Home > Sound Banks > AstroLab Factory).
Thanks for that info. On my AstroLab, that section, along with all the others (instruments, artists, types, etc.) is empty due to the use of the Oct+ and Oct- button reset and Initialize via AnalogLab.
Ok, I reapplied the 1.50 update via AnalogLab using the downloadable file from the Arturia download page.
It didn’t replace any factory libraries or presets. In fact, out of 39 modules, only module 3 and 39 actually got reapplied. The rest were just compared and apparently found already up to date.
So it looks to me like there’s no way for an owner to repair a broken or removed factory Astrolab library.
Stuart.
Apologies for the slow follow-up. I’d recommend reaching out to our support team - they may be able to assist you here and share the removed factory library presets with you.

I’ve done that and just resolved the issue by restoring the previous update (1.4.x) and then the current update.
That restored access to all the Astrolab factory presets.
