[BUG][PROBLEM] Aftertouch continues to be active locally despite being in Local Control Off Mode

Hi all,

I’ve been struggling with this issue, and unfortunately support hasn’t been helpful nor do they seem to understand the issue with weeks in between communication, so hoping to see if anyone else has encountered this, or could try to replicate it, using all hardware, or a DAW hybrid, as the results are identical for me.

The issue:
Either using Oxi One, or Ableton Live, I have two hardware synths. I’m sending Ch.14 to SynthA and Ch.15 to MF (itself). I have Local Control set to off to treat the MF as a midi controller, and the only way for it to play sound is by either the Oxi One or Ableton sending MIDI to it.

The test:
Record a midi clip on ch15 for the MF using a preset that has Aftertouch enabled. Midi clip does not need to have Aftertouch recorded to make this clearer to hear. Press play so the clip plays the MF. Switch to the other synth channel, so 14 in my case to play my OB-6. No issues receiving midi from the MF keyboard. Now, mute the track audio on CH14 synth, OB-6 in my case so you can only hear the MF being played back. Make sure to stay on OB-6 channel 15 to play/send midi to to ch14 or OB-6. Play notes and dig into the keys to activate Aftertouch. If the issue is able to be replicated, you would hear the Aftertouch playing on CH14, still active on the MF itself and affecting the MF sound through playback. There are no notes coming from ch 14 or any other CC data. Aftertouch is still being active within the synth itself.

Verification:
In Ableton or Oxi One, view the midi Monitor. On Oxi One, you will see AT only incoming on ch14… In Ableton, through a Midi Monitor m4l plugin on the MF channel while the other track is active that you are playing. You will see no data coming from Ch 14, thus no data incoming on ch 15 for MF. Only clip data is going out to the MF for playback on its own channel/track.

Would super appreciate if anyone can test this, or verify you’ve encountered this. At this point, I can’t use the MF as a midi controller for multiple hardware, or I need to use MF presets with no Aftertouch enabled to avoid this.

Additionally, if I use my Push 2 on ch 15 to play the OB-6, and use Aftertouch, it does not affect or send to ch 14, so this is not a MIDI routing issue, but solely a hardware issue with AT still being active with Local Control set to off.

Much thanks in advance.

I can confirm that AT affects the internal sound when Local = Off. I’ll notify the devs.
