I’ve just acquired a new Astrolab61 and updated it to the 1.3.0 firmware. When in the global settings > pedals menu I’ve reassigned aux 1+2 to toggle fx 1+2 but after powering off and on they revert to their previous (and presumably in someone’s mind) default actions. I believe this bug was reported in this forum before but as best as I can tell it was before the firmware update. So did that update not fix this or is there a way to save them that I’m missing?
Thanks for the reply. Any idea where the best place for a related feature request is? As advertised those aux inputs were supposed to be configurable as toggle switch or continuous controller pedals but the limited options given seem all only toggle type. I don’t know if the architecture would allow it but ideally, IMO, one option should/?could be something implying “per patch” so then it’d be up to how the patch was designed to respond to CCs 12 and 13 in each instrument from Analog Lab or the V Collection. And while we’re at it do the same for the sustain pedal which in some patches that don’t need sustain I’ve sometimes used CC64 to toggle other settings.
I’d like one of the aux pedals to be usable as a controller for master volume. Using the master knob at the far right end is almost impractical anyway. Any thoughts on this?
You can do it now using the Expression pedal jack, though it took me a while to figure it out. When in Analog Lab, you show the strip at the bottom that includes the Expression pedal and from the drop down menu choose “assign”. The assignable soft controls in the effects and instrument above turn purple and that includes the master volume knob. Choose that, then save the patch to the Astrolab and it is remembered per patch. As with any of the B3 related patches, I believe with any instrument you own you can make other assignments in the instrument and, again save to the Astrolab. I haven’t experimented with that myself yet but certainly, out of the box, it works that way with the B3 patches. Also haven’t yet experimented with making a setting controlled by CC12 or 13 (which I believe Aux 1 and 2 are fixed on) in an instrument and seeing if that works and stays consistent.
