Audiofuse rev1 (or 2) free routing in DAW

Does the card have independent routing (via daw on Mac or iPad)? Can I output the monitor signal to channel 1 and 2, send the effects to outputs 3 and 4, and then set 2x stereo-return (i use Eventide H90) for 1-2 and 3-4 inputs?

P.S.: why do I have astrolab-88 tags automatically added?

Not 100% sure what you are asking for. It would be useful to know your planned configuration of inputs/outputs.

The AudioFuse has 4 internal busses:

  • “Local” bus, which can be a mix of all its audio inputs (Analog 1-4 + ADAT 1-8).
This bus is used only for “Direct Monitoring”.
The setup of this mix is programmed in the AFCC (on Mac or Windows, not iOS), and the amount of Direct Monitoring in the Speakers/Headphones is adjusted with the Direct/Computer knob on the AF itself.
In addition to going to the Local mix bus, all the inputs are also routed directly to the DAW/USB device (fixed routing: Inputs 1-4 to USB 1-4, ADAT 1-8 to USB 7-14, USB 5/6 being reserved for the Talkback mic).

  • Main, Cue 1 and Cue 2 busses, coming from the DAW/USB device (computer or iPad), respectively as USB Channels 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6. (USB channels 7-14 are routed directly to ADAT 1-8 outputs)
These 3 busses can be routed individually to Speakers, Phones 1 and Phones 2, and it is possible to route Phones 2 to Speaker B. For instance, you could have the Main bus going to Speaker A, while Cue 1 bus is going to Phones 1 and Cue 2 bus is going to Speaker B.

Reading the manual section 3 could help  (there are block diagrams and charts of the inputs/outputs/busses and USB In/out channels)

P.S.: the astrolab-88 tag is a glitch and it has already been reported to admins.

  • adat in/out for additional dac/adc. 8 inputs from eurorack and 8 outputs to eurorack
  • output 1 & 2 for monitoring (to mix)
  • output 3 for send to fx A
  • output 4 for send to fx B
  • input 1 & 2 for stereo return from fx A
  • input 3 & 4 for stereo return from fx B

All of this ruled by DAW, not needs internal mixing.

And one more question: spdif in/out can works with all analog channels and ADAT at the same time? I get 14 ins and 14 outs?

OK, so that should work:

  • adat in/out for additional dac/adc. 8 inputs from eurorack and 8 outputs to eurorack
→ using USB channels 7-14 In and Out
  • output 1 & 2 for monitoring (to mix)
    → using Main (USB 1/2)
  • output 3 for send to fx A
  • output 4 for send to fx B
    → using Cue 1 or Cue2 (USB 3/4 or 5/6)
  • input 1 & 2 for stereo return from fx A
    → going to USB 1/2
  • input 3 & 4 for stereo return from fx B
    → going to USB 3/4

No, you have to choose between SPDIF or ADAT (SPDIF is sharing USB 7/8 with ADAT 1/2, so it’s one or the other)
