Astrolab wtf?

It would be fair if in the next update Astrolab stopped being a player for astronomical money and at least a couple of Acid and Any synthesizers were opened to us to choose from. In my akai mpc live not everything is open either, but there is already a lot when you buy it, so they misled me that you can turn the knobs of the synthesizers in the editor, but in fact just play, besides in Acid there are only arpeggios and it is impossible to play with one sound. I don’t want to give back the synthesizer in the hope that there will be an update and the editor will open. Or at least create a separate program for Astrolab in which everything is open. For this money you can buy a good midi keyboard, a laptop and a bunch of plugins!!!

Tbh I hear your complaint with this. I understand the audience that AstroLab is aimed at but it’s basically just a midi controller with a built-in version of Analog Lab running on a Linux build. Consequently you don’t get fully-comprehensive editing abilities of all the individual instruments unless you mate it to a computer running a full version of V Collection. This is probably something Arturia could seek to make more clear. Rather than a standalone instrument, I see the AstroLab more as a companion-product to people already running V Collection on a computer, allowing them to take their projects on the road without having to cart a laptop along with a midi controller.

EDIT in Arturia’s defence, worth pointing out that you aren’t buying a midi controller with a keyboard as nice as AstroLab + a laptop + the full version of V Collection for the same price as AstroLab.

I assume you can exercise your right to return it for a refund.

Hi there, I’m sorry that you are not satisfied with your AstroLab.

"I don’t want to give back the synthesizer in the hope that there will be an update and the editor will open. " - that would be through purchasing the V-Collection, or just the instrument that you want to control such as Acid V.

I believe there is a discount for V-Collection if you own AstroLab. I hear you about wishing this was a part of AstroLab upon purchase, but the Factory bank of AstroLab in Analog Lab has been carefully crafted, each preset and its macros, for use on stage with the 4 knobs. It is not just a player of V-Collection as it is. Once you buy V-Collection you will be able to import and tweak most of the instruments onto your AstroLab.

I just got confirmation that for 199$ you can get all of V-Collection if you have the AstroLab
