AstroLab PSU

Hey,

Has anyone else experienced their external PSU on their AstroLab 61 dying? I went to turn my AstroLab on today and got zero response. After checking everything, including the fuse in the plug, I was able to determine that the inline brick was dead. I was able to power up the unit with an alternative 12v 3A centre-positive PSU.

Just wondering if I’ve been unlucky or is this a more common issue.

Unlucky!
The only requests for PSU replacement I’ve heard of were for lost PSUs, but I guess a PSU failure is a possible rare occurrence.

The exact same PSU (with the locking/screw-on plug)is available as a spare part:

  • Part Name : [072112410] AstroLab - PSU
  • Part Number : 230701970007

But you are correct, it’s a 12VDC / 3A, center-positive 2.1mm barrel.

I recently found out about someone using a power bank for their AstroLab away from a power outlet, from https://myvolts.com/StepUpPower

If your unit is still under warranty, you should be able to get a replacement for it under its terms, if so, just contact the seller and they should oblige.

HTH!

Hey Sean!

Yeah, completely unexpected. At first I thought the fuse had gone in the plug, but it turns out the brick itself is dead. No green light and I tried a number of different leads.

I’ll reach out to Grenoble to see if they can sort me a replacement
