AstroLab preset editing

It appears the only way to FULLY edit an Astrolab preset is via AnalogLab. You can edit some basic functions via Astrolab Connect (even though it’s focus seems to be getting you to purchase new sounds).

You can also do limited preset editing on the Astrolab itself but changing a multi preset part key range and transposition, if possible, seem difficult since no visual feedback is available to show you what you just did.

Comments, corrections?

Stuart.

Hi @stuart.renes ,

I will say this page explain:
https://www.arturia.com/products/hardware-synths/astrolab/ecosystem

Full deep editing require having the full instruments in which the presets are created.
I think it depend on ones needs too.

It doesn’t explain anything in detail. It’s just an outline of what the tool does, which doesn’t help once you realize what editing a preset, with visual feedback, requires.

You can do this on AstroLab itself.

  • Press Shift + Split (MIDI) to access the Keyboard settings of Part1 / Part2
Available settings for each Part are
    • Low Note, High Note,
    • Input Channel, Output Channel,
    • Octave Transpose, Semitone Transpose,
    • Enable/disable switches for PitchBend, ModWheel, Aftertouch, Sustain and Expression
    • Bank/Subbank/Number for Program Change messages sent on the Output channel when selecting this preset.

Don’t forget to Save (using Shift + Playlist) your changes before switching to another preset.
