Hello. Is anybody able to give me step by step instructions on how to assign an on/off for delay effect for a patch in Analog Lab Pro to one of the user pads on the Keylab 49 essential? I want to play the verse part of a song with a a delayed piano but the be able to quickly turn off the delay while playing.
I have seen some answers on line, and believe it can be done, but it seems I’m missing a step or two. Please assume I know nothing, as I am a drummer not a keyboardist!
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi @Progfrog. Welcome to the community.
First -
Are the Delay added in Analog Labs effect section or is it a part of the original instrument the preset was made in?
If it’s a part of the original instruments effects section, then you can only change it, if you have the full application of that instrument or if the parameter is assigned to be controlled by a Macro.
Is it a factory preset? If so which preset and have you made any changes to it in Analog Lab?
Hi LBH, thanks for the response.
The sound was a piano-“Butter” that I added the delay to and changed some reverb in the effects section (edit preset) and then saved as a user preset
Hi again @Progfrog ,
I don’t have the controller.
You wish to use a pad to control a switch.
By default the controllers pads is set to output notes. You need to change that so the pad you want to use out put midi CC (control change). So you need to be in User mode.
For the Pad you will use Change/ Set the following in Midi Control Center (MCC):
- OUTPUT to CC
- TYPE to TOOGLE
- And CC to for example 90 - undefined.
You can consult section “3.6.2. Pads — CC” about this in the this manual where there also is an image:
In Analog Lab you need to set it to Generic Controller and then use midi learn to assign the PAD to the On/Off button for you effect.
You can read how to do that in the controllers manual section “3.5.2.4. MIDI Learn” where there also is an image.
You can download the controller manual here:

I hope this helps.
