Anyone using MIDI controllers?

I have just received my new Soundforce SFC-OB controller. I recently purchased the Prophet 5 model and was immediately smitten. Both are a joy to use and thanks to cooperation between the developer and Arturia, have bi-directional communication.

I was never going to own an OB or Pro5 for real but these are the next best thing. I had not really appreciated how having all the controls mapped out speeds up patch creation and I love the tactile experience.

I can thoroughly recommend them.

According to this post, it can be done with any VST plugin: [in French]

With Pigments? I doubt it.

Not Pigments :frowning:

These controllers are ideally suited to the earlier “simpler” analog synths.

I want to get the Juno one next.

That’s what I thought! I would go for Buchla and ARP 2600, maybe cs-80.

I’m just going through Labx1, Labx2 and Pigments vol1.
So many presets and so much work!
Among many, I like the pads, the Augmented presets, the presets for the MiniBrute especially the more subdued one. MiniBrute is said to be a brute, which is not my specialty.
I didn’t buy Reverb Machine Brutalism and told him why.

Being busy using Paypal for the first time, I forgot to identify myself!

I am so glad you are enjoying my patches. I spent a couple of hours today using the OB controller and created about 10 patches. These will probably be my next release.

I thought so! It’s a nice tool for making presets.

Pigments vol.1 :
With two presets “The Local” and “Pretty Things” gives a missing sample message
In my setup, the target samples are in Pigments>Factory>Pigments 5

Many original presets. The Slow down macros are welcomed.

Thanks for letting me know.

Thats weird. I tested them on another mac. Those samples should be standard installs as part of Pigments 5 and included in an install of Pigments 6 I would have thought. All I can suggest is searching for them in the stated location or substituting them for others you have installed.

I will try and look into it on my test mac.

It’s only two presets and once you’ve pointed to the wav file, Pigments remembers the location.

That does look great! Maybe I’ll get one, but might need to make room first (see below).

I have a Panorama P1 which is very flexible and its partner app, Nektarine, has lots of mappings included for popular plugins.

You’re absolutely right about proper tactile control improving the whole experience.

(I also have a Launchpad Pro, an Akai Fire, an Akai LPD8, a Korg nanoKontrol2 and an NI S61 Mk3, so lots of choice for tactile input. Too much, in fact. Oh, forgot my Yamaha drum pads!)

Thanks very much for putting up your presets - I’m looking forward to playing with those.
