Any seasoned Pigments users want to help improve my patch?

This is my attempt at the organ in Won’t Get Fooled Again by the Who. It has its origins in the Cathedral Organ patch in Pigments 6. I’m guessing 4.75 Hz is about right on the square wave pulse rate.

Trying to zero in on a more punchy sound like on the original Lowry organ has been more of a challenge than I anticipated.

Suggestions and/or reworkings of the attached file will be appreciated.

I have no intention to work on the sound now. Recreating sounds can be hard - also depending on how close it shall sound to the original. Nothing wrong with your sound, if it works, even though it to me do not sound like the original.

I can give a few tips that might help to create the sound in Pigments as that’s what you are trying.

You say it’s hard to get the repeat punch.

  • Keep in mind that you to the right of the Filters in Pigments have the AMP MOD. This can modulate the AMP. Nothing wrong in modulating different volume parameters though.
  • You can even trigger an Envelope - if you need it - by selecting another modulators Rate in the Envelopes Retrig Source.

I would take more time to create the basic Organ sound, if it’s important to you it sound exactly like The Who’s.

I suggest you build the sound from the Default preset. In generel keep in mind the original sound is a simple sound using simple modulations. Originally a Lowry Organ run through a EMS VCS3 synth.

Instead of using Hz for rate, you can use Sync to a Master Tempo. Nothing wrong in using Hertz though.

Be gentle with the Effects.

Thanks @LBH. Great advice. I’ll keep at it!
