Analog Lab vs Astrolab browsing presets

Hi there,

Is there someone who knows a way to immediately see in astrolab if a preset is already in Astrolab Library ? I mean, i don’t want to switch between astrolab library and analoglab library.

I didn’t find that, and if on the explore tab there could be a tag that can mention that the analog lab preset i browser is already or not in my Astrolab Library, it could make it so easier to choose.
Because, without it i have imported multiple instances of the same preset in my astrolab library and at the end it could takes so much space.

And in another hand, browsing in astrolab is so boring… I need to go to the app (which is not very ergonomic…) or in astrolab (but browsing on 15k presets represents so much time).

I think that globally the user experience (of the keyboard, the app and analoglab with astrolab) on browsing should be reviewed to help finding more efficiently the preset i want.

There isn’t a way to compare presets between Analog Lab and AstroLab.
Actually, the ~1,800 factory presets of AstroLab are a selection of Analog Lab presets optimized for AstroLab, as well as a selection of “Artist” presets that might not be included in Analog Lab’s factory library (some are from optional Tribute soundbanks, or even new presets for AstroLab).

Modeled presets (Pianos, Organs, Synths) barely take any space. Only presets containing large samples (Augmented series in particular, and Pure LoFi) use more storage space, and of course, if you have created user presets for samplers like Emulator IIV or CMI V, using long custom samples.

On AstroLab, you can filter preset browsing by Instrument, preset Type and Sub-type.
For instance, ARP2600/Leads/Soft lead.
Also you can browse by Sound Bank, either only AstroLab Factory presets, or Sound banks imported from the Sound Store via Analog Lab or AstroLab Connect, or User sound banks (and again, filtered by Type/Sub-type).

There is a large spreadsheet created by another user, listing all Analog Lab and AstroLab presets in details, but that document dates back to V-Collection X and AstroLab 1.3 (currently AstroLab firmware is 1.7, and V-Collection is at V-C 11 Pro), so it is not up-to-date but it gives a good idea.
