Amount knob too little sensitive when selecting letters

Naming a patch is done with the luxurious amount knob. However, to me, scrolling through the alphabet is far too slow. Where on other synths, I often find this problem the other way around (accidentally skipping over letters), here I feel serious fatigue after entering a 8-letter name. Am I the only one finding this a bit tiresome?

It works the way as is, but to my taste the dial should run in a kind of logarithmic way:

  • slow movement of the dial >> slow movement of the letters
  • fast movement of the dial >> relatively fast movement along the letters

…but as usual - this reflects only my taste of what could be.

Proper naming can be done in Connect - this is part of my irregular “clean up” of stored presets and back-ups of the PB

Indeed, such a logarithmic implementation would be great.

By the way, in general, although I generally love the Polybrute, including its interface, I think the amount knob is a bit of a missed opportunity. If is a very central, big knob, with amount LEDs! The button is only used in its full potential when setting a modulation amount. For the rest, the knob only has some rather obscure functions, like selecting patch types when holding “preset” or moving the step sequencer cursor, and thus choosing letters from the alphabet.
Just one idea of what one could have done with it: Make a short cut (say, - turn button X), which triggers the value in the current patch of button X to be shown by the amount knob’s LEDs and adjustable from that value by turning it.

Well, maybe the amount LEDs are a bit too much of a luxury anyway, so close to the display. I honestly never really register them.
