can’t really seem to understand what this option does, can someone help me? Thanks !
One simple example with PolyBrute 6:
Create a patch with the VCA ENV Attack and Sustain sliders set all the way at the top, and Polyphony set to Poly.
Play a 6-note chord and wait for all 6 tones to come to full volume and stay there as you hold the keys. Then add a 7th note.
If “ALL Env Reset” is set to “Reset: Off”, that 7th note will replace note 1 and play at full volume immediately (since the Envelope does not reset).
If “ALL Env Reset” is set to “Reset: On”, the 7th note will replace note 1 but fade in with the Attack specified by the VCA ENV Attack.
Hi Talahamut,
interessting finding.
To my understanding of “ALL Env Reset” will retrigger all envelops if a fresh voice is allocated - I use it quite often…
See “4.8.4. Envelope Retriggering”. The information box might explain your finding and the “voice stealing” of note 7 in your example:
“Make sure to have some release on your envelope. If you have no release, the amount of
envelope will instantly drop to 0 as soon as you release the key. In this case, your envelope will resetfrom the beginning of the attack, regardless of this setting.”
(shortcut: “Settings” and move one of the Sustain sliders - …there is no blue circle for this as it came in late)
Thanks to both of you! So it’s a polyphonic option, I get it now. I was trying to see if it had any effect in uni/mono mode.
