All augmented crashes when setting audio output to BT speaker

I was trying to simply change the audio output of augmented brass (in standalone mode) but it soon crashed after shortly showing a bitrate limitation message (no time to read it !). Since that, it cannot start anymore: it opens a few second then crashes, repeatedly !

Am I alone ? Any way to recover ?

Found that a simple reset the preferences of instruments was enough to recover…

Thanks for any hint…

HI @ALeX1

This only happens when trying to use a Bluetooth device for playback?

Is this your usual audio playback device?

Can you list your system spec please as that might be useful in diagnosing your issues.

Personally, i wouldn’t be trying to use Bluetooth as a playback device as it can have quite bad latency as well as being data compressed currently.

HTH!

Hi all.

Welcome back @ALeX1.
You can always try to reinstall the instrument. This should give you a fresh setup.

But as @matjones say, then we need more informations if the issue persist . Also about which soundcard you are trying to select in the Audio and Midi Settings, if that’s what you try to change.

Perhaps you need to contact Arturia support through your account.

Hello @matjones, hello @LBH ,

So far yes, I got this issue only with my BT speaker, and I was using it for the first time as a direct output device for my instruments.

I can understand BT is not best fit for playback but as a ‘basic’ user, I just saw it as a quick option to share my sound around me. I did not expect that would cause that much troubles

As I posted, I found a way to recover the instruments, as long as not using my BT speaker (resetting preferences in ASC).
Alternatively I also found a useful workaround, directly from Apple, by creating an aggregated output sound device with the default Apple Audio Midi setup app.
I’d say this is just the default behavior I expected: make it work at first, no matter what, then only, let other details as an option for further tweak if user needs so. I was perfectly fine with this temporary setup albeit quality might not be perfect. Just a matter of user experience I think (and Apple made it just well here, hint for Aturia friends  )

Thank you both for your prompt help here :+1:
fyi, I also opened a ticket for this (to support), which now can be closed - the FAQ gave this hint I found afterwards only…

Hey @ALeX1 and thanks for updating us on your situation.

I check mixes myself through a mono bluetooth speaker, but i always run off a quick mixdown, i can see how one might want to be able to do so in close to real time though as to save a little time here and there.

I’ll close this thread now so others don’t jump in and possibly conflate it with other possible issues.
