AFCC 2.0 consumes CPU core when I'm doing nothing [Windows]

When I am reading some documents on pc (Windows 11) and there is strictly no ongoing audio or capture or even DAW open (only browser windows) I can hear the fans of my computer sometime go loud. I’m used to check what’s happening in this kind of cases, sometimes it’s just the Windows cleanup services that trigger, but sometimes I find surprising behavior.

Since the 2.0 update I regularly spot a process “AudioFuse Control Center Agent” take a whole logical core to 100% which triggers the fans.
Things I discovered with this:

  • killing that process cause no issue, so that’s what I do at the moment;
  • the process is started when AFCC is launched, I can see both processes in the task manager;
  • that process does nothing while AFCC is running after a first launch of it, that is, it takes 0% CPU;
  • once I close AFCC’s window, then that Agent process starts using the CPU around 7-10% for me, which when I look at the core usage is at least 100% of one core (I can see that core go all green which means 100% usage);

I suspect that this is a bug but would need to make sure it’s not specific to my computer. Am I the only one seeing this?

Note: when I see this issue, I have only midi devices connected wich are not instruments. All my instruments are powered off.

Hi! I just discovered this as well, but on a Macbook pro M3 Max. It is constantly consuming around 100% cpu when looking at the activity monitor. So that means one core is being used a 100%. It is ok at the moment as I have such a powerful computer. But it doesn’t feel that good to know that a software is using a core constantly. What is it actually doing? I have tried to reinstall the application, but the same problem consists. I am using the Audiofuse Studio. And the latest version of the software… That is when I started noticing this as well. I have have seen the app crash a couple of times as well. When I am trying to close the app, it gets the spinning bath ball and seems to crash.

Interesting to learn that it’s not OS-specific.

So far I didnt get feedback yet from the ticket @lily.arturia created but I’m sure they are looking into it. Probably a bug due to 2.0 changes. As a developer, I am used to that haha
