Adjusting ADSR on Presets

Hi,

I understand the “Time” knob on the Astrolab can correlate based to the preset to some rough ADSR controls. Though it’s different for each patch.
I didn’t think i’d need the additional knobs but really sometimes a patch just needs a bit of tweaking to suit the moment.

Is the only way to ADJUST the ADSR if I buy Collection V and then edit the patches that way? Seems kind of steep price to do a small thing like that.

I haven’t been able to see in Analog LABS Pro how to remap the knobs to something like ADSR but maybe I’m mistaken.

Love to hear your ideas.

That is correct. An Analog Lab preset is made up of one or two presets from the V Collection synths, and the only modifications you can make in Analog Lab are to whatever is assigned to the Macros. It’s more of a preset player than a full-blown synth.

Hi, on most analog synth presets, you can edit the envelope(s) in Analog Lab Pro (which is included with AstroLab) using the 9 “virtual faders”:
In Analog Lab:

  • in Settings / MIDI, select “Generic 9 knobs + 9 faders” as the MIDI Controller
  • enable the “Controls” tab at the bottom of the window to display the knobs and faders.
(the knobs are the same as AstroLab, for the Macros and Effects)
  • adjust the envelopes using the virtual faders
  • save the edited preset to AstroLab

Note that you can also connect a hardware USB/MIDI knob/fader box to the AstroLab and control the virtual faders via MIDI messages using the following CCs (on MIDI Ch 1):
Fader 1: 73
Fader 2: 75
Fader 3: 79
Fader 4: 72
Fader 5: 80
Fader 6: 81
Fader 7: 82
Fader 8: 83
Fader 9: 85
