I’ve got an AF 16Rig, and a Push 3 Standalone.
I have Output 1 and 2 of the Push 3 connect to inputs 7 and 8 on the 16Rig using 1/4" TRS cables, and then I linked those inputs in AFCC (7 hard panned left, 8 hard panned right).
I then have Input 7-8 as a mixer strip in the main mix.
While playing the Push 3, I noticed there was a lack of bass, and it sounded phase-y. If I load the same project in Live on my Mac, it sounds great.
I took me a while, but eventually I found that enabling the phase inversion button in AFCC made it sound “normal” again.
But I would like to know… why? What would be a cause of improper phase matching for a line-in device like the Push 3 Standalone?
Hi Ryan,
Could you please record in Ableton the signal received in 16Rig 7-8 ins from the Push, with no phase inversion engaged ans share a screenshot of the stereo waveform here?
Also, do you have another audio interface to plug the Push in, and compare versus the 16Rig?
If no, you could try with another 16Rig inputs pair
Cheers,
Apologies for the delay… lost track of this with the holidays.
Hope this is what you meant. This is recorded with phase inversion disabled.
This seems to be resolved.
In order to provide more feedback for this ticket, I moved my Push 3’s output cables over to my AudioFuse 8Pre, and there it worked just fine without any phase issues.
I then moved the cables back to the 16Rig (same input ports), and it seems all fine again, even with the phase inversion turned off.
So I wonder if it just wasn’t plugged in correctly or what not…
