Tempo changing the preset Beautiful Ones

Hi, I’ve just purchased an Astrolab and I’m trying to play the preset called beautiful ones from the song by Prince and I can’t change the tempo of the rhythmic effect within the preset by changing the tempo of the song. Does anybody know how I can fix that?

Hi, I don’t have a “Beautiful Ones” presets in AstroLab, nor any of my Analog Lab soundbanks, so I can’t check what rhythmic effect you’re talking about.
Which instrument is it using? and which bank did you find it in?
Do you have the V-Collection (or at least the instrument that is used for this preset)?
If it’s an internal rhythm inside the preset, you might have to edit it with the full instrument (depending on how it was programmed in the first place).

Hi Sean it is a stepped filter cutoff effect.
Heard at the beginning of this song

Looks like it was made with the OB-Xa V

Ah, yes I know the song. But the “Beautiful Ones” OP-Xa V preset is from an optional soundbank called “Legends” by Reverb Machine found here.
It’s a slow Sample&Hold modulation of the filter. Unless it has already been assigned to a Macro in Analog Lab (typically Time or Movement), you would need the full OP-Xa V license to edit the rate of the S&H.

OK thanks very much for explaining Sean!

Cheers

Hi,

Just an additional information.
A modulation tempo will only sync to your host tempo if the modulation is set to sync. In this case it look like the modulation is’nt set to sync by the designer.
