Pigments 6: Missing New Factory Presets?

Hi folks!

Loving Pigments 6 and the new Exploration bundle, but I was watching the “What’s New?” video and noticed I don’t have access to the presets on show.

Normally, a new version of Pigments would come with a dedicated expansion (e.g. Pigments 5.0) and I don’t seem to see that for 6.

Is this the same for you folks? Any advice?

Thanks all!

Hi @jeremylim. Welcome to the community.

A Pigments 6.0 bank with 100 new presets is being installed when you install Pigments 6. Look among Pigments Banks.
You should have it

Thanks for confirming that! Gave it a reinstall and it showed up this time.

I was having some other expansion issues so I thought it might have been related. Much appreciated.

I have a similar problem. For me only 5 presets show up in the Pigments 6 bank. Reinstalling Pigments did not help.

Hi @mr_jonix. Welcome to the community.

You can try to delete the db.db3 file in your Arturia Ressources - Preset folder. Perhaps the database is corrupt.
Then just open Pigments again after that and the database will be rebuild.

@LBH that worked, thanks

You are welcome.

Pigment 6 bank opens fine in Pigments 6 instrument alone. But Pigments 6 bank does not open in Analog Lab V Pro, it asks you to install the last verison of Analog Lab which I already have updated. It seems Analog Lab V is not reading well or detecting the Pigment 6 bank.

Hi @murry61. Welcome back.

Have a look at this:

OK, I have deleted the db.db3 file three times, and let it “rebuild” but only resulting in file with zero bytes. No presets. I have deleted Pigments and rebooted and reinstalled. No presets.

In the \programdata\arturia\Presets\Factory folder there are tons of “presets” but none of them have a file extension. Weird.

Hi @Timeking. Welcome to the community.

You can in Windows FIL as type for the presets only. This is normal.

Don’t you have the presets in a Pigments folder and in subfolders like this?:
\programdata\arturia\Presets\Pigments\Factory\Subfolders

Yes I have that folder - \programdata\arturia\Presets\Pigments\Factory etc.

I don’t know what you mean “Windows FIL as type for the presets only. This is normal.” Sort of, but none of these are being accessible to Pigments for some unknown reason. ???

Sorry that’s a typo. FIL can be read as file type. There is nothing wrong with your presets as far as i can tell.

If you have done everything like the following link describe it and then rebuilded your database, then you have a very weird issue, so i suggest you contact Artuira Support through your account:

Directions to resolve ‘no presets’ issue is a bit incomplete: you have to delete ALL THREE of the db.db3 type files, then the program properly rebuilds these and the presets issue is resolved.

Then you did not have the instrument closed. Or there was a file error of some kind. Only the db.db3 file is’nt temporary. Only the db.db3 file should be present, when have closed applications.

I assume this means the issue is solved. Thanks for letting us know.

Oddly, as far as I can recall, not keeping notes, but with Pigments running or not running, there were 3 db3 files present. Also the db.db3 file was either 4kb or 0kb (zero). I think the other 2 were some sort of leftover. ??? But only going in that folder with Pigments NOT running, and deleting all 3, was the issue of no presets resolved. In further mystery, the db.db3 file is now 2020kb. It only took me 2 days to resolve.
