Multi instrument preset sounds different when I'm recording

Hi

Currently looking at Complexity preset under the Multi-instrument category. It consists of two arp patches, where one sounds more bassy and another one more high pitched. The high pitched one sounds fine and in sync when just playing it. But the moment I’m recording it in my DAW (or even having it in Play mode without recording, where the playhead is moving), then the high pitched arp part sounds out of wack and not in sync, anymore.

Would someone kindly explain why this happens?

Thanks

EDIT: This video should explain the problem:

EDIT2: Also happens with “Lo-fi Techno” preset

Hi @Aleque,

Is this your issue?:

Hi, I am not sure if it is, but it sounds like it.

So… another problem. Now with Deep Layer preset (also the multi-instrument category). It sounds in one way when my DAW is not playing or recording, when I’m holding down a chord. But the moment it plays or records, the high pitched pling sounds of that chord sounds completely different. It totally breaks the creative flow.

I have gone through almost every preset in the entire VC8 collection and encountered various bugs and problems, but this one is just too much.

Arturia don’t seem to test their own software, it seems.

Why would I use Analog Lab, if what I’m playing in standby mode sounds completely different when I am recording something.

Truly disappointed by their software, honestly. It’s things like this that I will remember, next time they will try and sell me something.

You keep giving them money for new instruments full of bells and whistles and that is what they will keep doing - releasing new software, instead of fixing what they already made.

People should stop giving them more money before they fix the old bugs. I’m assuming it’s a bug. Not sure what else it could be.

HI again @Aleque ,

I have seen you Video in another thread:

The issue for the “Deep Layer” preset issue seem to be about the LFO work monophonic and not Polyphonic when the DAW is running. It seem to work polyphonic, if the retrig is enabled for the LFO, but that should not be needed. (Both the sounds in this preset is JUP-8 presets, so it’s not related to Pigments.

It unfortunately actually look like Analog Lab have serious issues when using Part 2 i Multies i DAW’s.
Part 2 simply is’nt working like it should. Parameters can’t be edited. Things do not work like it should. And sometimes the bug only show when the DAW is running.
It must be after the latest updates.

I have noticed that parameters for part 2 is’nt available for the Analog Lab controls when trying to Assing to a control. Sometimes it’s also not possible for the Part 1 instrument.
When trying to Assing a parameter, then the part 1 instrument open and not the part 2.
Often the Part 2 macro’s are missing from Analog Labs Macros, so they are not being controlled by Analog Lab’s Macros.
I use generic keyboard setting.

When opening the Part 2 instrument it’s the Part 2 Macros that are show, and when using Learn it open the Part 1 instrument.

Can anyone else confirm?

Do you have the same issues for sounds in Part one in a Multi or for None Multi presets?

I’m on Windows. Tested in Windows 11. Which OS do you use?

I use VST3.

I use Studio One 6 PRO. I assume it must be considered a legacy DAW version since it’s now Fender Studio 8. Which DAW do you use.

I have no idea what’s going on. Do anyone have an explanation?

Hopefully all this is something that can and will be fixed in the next update.

I can suggest you report to Arturia support through your account. Feel free to post a link to the relevant topics in the community.

I just sent an email to Arturia technical support, and I included links to both topics. Not sure what good it will do but let’s hope for the best. For now I will avoid using the buggy “multi” presets.

As to your question: I use Win10 Pro and Cubase 15 Pro

Good you have contacted Arturia support.

Cubase 15 is the latest version. That’s good to know too.
