Interesting, Promidi. I’ll try that.
Still, why do we have to go this warped process now?

I’m all sure it’s new.
The problem, Pascal, is not that I can’t afford the hike; it’s the unfairness of this new price hike. US citizen will get a bonus on every Arturia product but non EU and non US citizen will pay the hike.
It’s a question of principle: I come from a family of lawyers and judges.
I’ll have your rillette sandwich. Or maybe with Normandie camembert.
It started happening for me at around February this year.
I am wondering the same thing.
However, if it works for you , hopefully it will remember your choice. for next time. If it does not remember, then at least you know a working work-a-round.
I understand @francoise , and I’m sorry for you and everyone else who finds themselves in the same situation.
I’ll get the results of my CT scan and MRI on Friday. For now, my single functioning kidney shows no lesions or risk of a tumor.
Since I can’t have any contrast during the imaging tests, I hope the MRI will confirm the results.
Don’t tell me you like to put salted butter on your rillettes.
I prefer that.
Best regards.
Looks great! Oui, le far breton, je me souviens.
I wish you good news for your kidney scan.
I may end up with kidney problem due to diabetes medecine (Invokana).
Yes success here too! Thank you Promidi.
Changing Shipping Address in MyArturia is useless.
It’s just when you’re about to pay (payment options and credit card info) that you change the shipping address to US. You’re then billed in USD.
This entire workaround is nothing short of BS and is already raising red flags with Apple Pay and other payment providers. And let’s not pretend that the problem is the conversion fees. The real problem is the cash grab in euros. I will let the Forex numbers speak for themselves. Let’s first look at the price in euros and what we as North Americans will be paying as a result.
Now, if they were to charge in USD, take a look at what it means they are taking in. Forget about what we’re paying for a moment.
Trying to make us “understand“ why they switched over to the euro is nothing short of BS. It all boils down to one thing: how much more can they take from the Western world? It is nothing short of a greed and a predatory move and quite honestly I do not have to pay it. There is an entire world of other software instrument developers that are charging us fairly without having to engage in borderline fraudulent practices. I can name company after European company that is charging in USD and euro at the same time. They are also not attaching on a predatory conversion fee. I will use what I have from Arturia for now, but in the future my money and my business will go with companies that will treat us fairly.
Wake up, Arturia. This is only the beginning!
Jord
So it depends on payment options. I personally use VISA. I don’t think I was charged a conversion fee.
If memory serves me well, I usually pay around 67-69 CAD for an Arturia VST synth.
Obviously, there’s been a recent change (weeks, months ago) and as clients, we don’t have to use workarounds.
Arturia brazenly decided to resolve my ticket. Talk about balls! This is far from resolved.
Let’s rub a little salt in this…
I’ve discovered that Cherry Audio sells the exact equivalent competitor for $49USD. Why in the world would I want to spend €49 on this one? I don’t even have to jump through any hoops to get this. Just added to my cart and purchase.
Can you guess who is getting my business?
Jord
Ouch. That is a big difference.
I went to check what I saw, and added the Augmented Persia instrument as an example.
There is something I did not notice before, but the prices are actual selectable buttons - I thought they were just showing approximate equivalent prices.
If I buy in €, I get one price. If I choose £, I get the 4% conversion fee. This is actually 3.89%, which is rather a lot. I am not aware of a near 4% fluctuation today or yesterday in exchange rates. So somebody somewhere is making a lot of money for doing actually nothing.

More details:

I didn’t pay this much for Persia. It’s not special launch discount price.
At the same price, you should buy the one you prefer. You can try both as demo.
From the YouTube comparisons, Memory V offers me more. But it seems there’s a new version for CherryAudio.
I’m quite familiar with the Memory V Advanced panel (same as Synthrix and Jup-8000). And I have an Astrolab 37 for the country; I’ll be able to use Memory V when it’s supported.
I didn’t buy Persia either. This was just to demonstrate the phenomenon.
I saw this when I bought Memory V and the upgrade to V Collection at the same time - a reasonable offer, actually.
At a 133 pounds, it’s not very attractive.
I use Astrolab37 in the country (Mont Ste-Anne). I’ts a condo hotel. Well built, but I tend to use quiet pads, strings with a piano. Both Persia and Memory V offer pads and strings.
Let’s stop right at these four words since the rest is nothing but strawman arguments to this entire issue.
The fact that you had to willfully lie on your payment information in order to get the $49 USD price and not be robbed of $14 CDN to which I can get from another developer for a comparable product is far from the same.
If you want to be opening up a bunch of red flag situations with your credit card, that is totally your choice. However, there is a word for that is in the financial world. It is called fraud.
Jord
Arturia now converts to CAD. I did not ask for it.
Who was I going to lie to? Arturia? There is no lie on my payment information.
You don’t know what you’re saying here. Let me ask you clearly: did you pay $82 CDN which is the equivalent of the €49 and the conversion fee?
That is the basis of what you are saying! If you did not pay that amount, then you had to lie on your payment information in order to get another price. That is plain and simple. Don’t fool yourself into believing you did anything innocent otherwise.
Jord
I paid 68 CAD (= 49 USD), Jord, after changing shipping address to US, not on may payment information. It’s on a page before payment information.
Then Arturia changed my billing to CAD; from now on, I’ m billed in CAD.
