Have you checked, that the plugin is the newest version?
EDIT: I have a Ableton Live 10.1.7 LE installed on a laptop. I have just tested with Analog Lab both as VST2 and VST3 version without having this crash issue. EDIT END
Actually, I had duplicates of the AL4 VST in my Plugins folder. As soon as I deleted the older version it worked perfectly! Thanks for the update though @LBH
