No remote out for Ableton Live devices parameter values
« on: May 27, 2019, 04:38:56 pm »
Hello,

When changing values from Ableton Live, it seems that the encoders of the keylab are not updated. Instead of picking up the current values of the parameter, the knobs jump from others values (from 0 for a macro, for example).

Example:
- select an user map for the keylab
- insert an EQ eight in a track of Ableton Live
- map the gain of the band 1 to the keylab knob 1
- in Live GUI, move the gain at 4dB
- move the physical knob 1 of the keylab (just a little)
- it will jump instantly to around +14dB!

The same thing happens each time you change a value from Ableton Live. As if no MIDI message was sent to the keyboard (contrary to the DAW mode that updates the panorama values to the keylab knobs each time you change the panorama of the tracks with your mouse in Live GUI), although remote out box is checked in the MIDI preferences.

I guess that the same thing happens when controlling an external gear: a cutoff frequency of an hardware synth is set to 2kHz, move the aasigned knob of the keylab and it will probably jump to zero before actually controlling the actual parameter value. But the thing is normal because the Keylab essential does not have a physical MIDI input to update the values of the hardware synth. Nevertheless, it should work in Ableton Live with USB because it already works with the MCU protocol of the DAW mapping.

Or maybe am I missing something and it is the intended behaviour?

Thank you guys,

creal.
