Did colour of wood change during production
« on: March 19, 2019, 09:21:06 pm »
Hi

I have noticed while watching youtube videos of the MxB
that the wood panels seem a lot lighter ( more like a teak effect )

On my MxB   the panels are more of a darker  ( mahogany colour )

also  my headphone socket has a silver lock nut
and on some of the videos it look like a black plastic locking nut
 cheers

I appear to have one of the early production runs of MxB (I think its #49, best guess) and I have the mahogany colored end cheeks and silver lock nut.  Cheers.

The unit I returned (due to a faulty keybed) and the one I got in exchange both had/have a medium to darkish finish on the end panels. That matches well with wood piece above the keys.

The lock nut is silver metal but will look black sometimes in varying lighting while reflecting the black panel.

The wood pieces cradling this beast look very warm and lush, almost B3'ish in color.

We have 2 MB's sitting here, one is from Mid 2017 the other from Mid 2018 and the wood looks exactly the same.
