high C note has high velocity when played lightly
« on: January 25, 2019, 05:53:39 am »
I noticed the high C note has higher velocity than the other notes when played with the same pressure.
Also it sometimes cuts out. Velocity does differ in range if you press very lightly, but it is way more sensitive than the rest of the keys.
I assume the only fix is to take it apart and see if there is some dirt or misalignment going on there.
I bought it 2nd hand from someone who barely used it.
Warranty is obviously no-more.
Anyone else have similar issues?
Cheers.

Not had this problem on my KeyStep but I've had it in the past on other controllers. It can nearly always be fixed by dismantling the keybed and carefully cleaning the circuit board and the contacts in the rubber pressure strips with alcohol. I'm telling you the obvious here, but you do this at your own risk. The confidence/experience/skills to do the task are going to vary from person to person.
