Novation Drumstation.....
« on: December 10, 2018, 02:38:34 pm »
Hi.

I too have recently acquired an old Novation Drumstation which I am hoping will be a great partner for my Beatstep Pro.
I see quite a few old posts talking about BSP/Drumstation combo and I would like to pick anyones brains regarding the best way to setup these beauties.

Since getting the drumstation only a few hours ago I realise it does not quite work in the way I thought it would and I may have to use the midi control centre to change kits.

Any advice on the ultimate setup will be massively appreciated.

Bests

Hi in the drum station use the General midi option and then in the BSP set the drums to GM  this may help you.

Hi, Thanks for your response.

I have tried that but things ar'nt right, for instance 808 kick is missing.

I'm having a bash at a custom map right now. Simply wondered if somebody who had already been through all that could advise on the best setup.

Many thanks againg.

Sorted it.

Turns out it didnt work quite as I imagined but actually worked better.
I think it's going to be a great partner for my Beatstep Pro.

So what was the perfect set-up? I'm going for the same combination but also encounter issues of it being different than my intuition, also missing the hi hats and the kick and snare in the drum trigs on the BSP.

Thanks for any help.

Hi dustrickx

Gosh it was a while ago I set this up but funilly enough I fired up my BSP & Drumstation today for the first time in months.... and what a fun afternoon it was too... not sure if the neighbours like it much tho....

I do remember I had to change the mappings in midi control centre.... Do you have the Drumstation instruction booklet thing with the midi information inside??

I have attached the midi mapping page of the manual.

Hope that helps

Craig
