MIDI Note data from DAW with MxB sequencer running?

MxB sequencer set to sync with DAW. No note data on MxB sequencer just mod stuff glide etc
MIDI in from daw for note data.
Seems in sequencer mode MxB disables MIDI note in?

Sorry if this has been covered before I searched and found not much.

I am trying to use the MxB sequencer for modulation only not note data. :/

Well the incoming MIDI is being used to transpose your sequencer pattern, so if that is empty, nothing is going to happen note wise.

If I understand you correctly, you want the sequencer to run, albeit empty, just to use the mod channel, whenever you press a note? I have no problem doing that here, sending MIDI from my MPCLive... Or did I get you wrong?

Just had an idea:

If your MB is set to MIDISync and your DAW is not playing (thus not sending MIDIClock), the sequencer won't run.

Might that be your issue?

All I am trying to do is send note data from Logic while the MxB sequencer is running in sync but with no note data. This is so I can do mod stuff with the MxB sequencer running but the actual note data coming from Logic.

That's one of my top sequencer feature requests: If we could separate the sequencer from the notes played and just use it as a modulation sequencer.

It does run here, however not freely, but restarting with every new note coming in, so I guess you would want it to keep running even when no notes are being played?

I guess you could weirdly work around that by playing a constant, very low note, and filtering that out, maybe?
