BSP Err 0d after USB fix
« on: September 05, 2018, 11:21:53 pm »
I have tried to fix my faulty USB connector following the Youtube fix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN3Ae-ktmjA

after the fix the unit always report "Err" and 0d on the Project menu
I have read on the forum that this is usually related to the "Looper" flat cable loose or disconnected...but it's perfectly in
I tried the Reset Mode, the unit goes into Reset mode and apparently completes, but after rebooting at the end of the reset, the Err 0d happens again
Any hint or Idea?

Hi autodafe,
Your issue is 100% related to the touch strip. Even it is broken or more likely, the flat cable is broken loose or badly connected.

Regards,
Y.

Maybe you mounted it back in a reverse way (unlikely).
It can be broken inside if it is bent to much (likely).

The silver copper strips at the end of the cable may also being sticking-out and not making contact anymore, especially on the strip board side.

yes, the connector is 100% faulty
I have removed it and checked with a multimeter...
There's no continuity between terminals on any if the pins..
I'll try a cut and repair, in the meanwhile I have ordered some new ones, it will take some time to get them delivered (they all ship from china) or try to find a spare one in some garbage electronics I have around...

FIXED:
I had some garbage lying around (weather station found in the garbage) with  a 10 pole FFC cable,I carefully cut the 4 excress traces, and everything is back to normal (or, mostly)

Glad to read you fixed your cable issue.
Anyway, for people experiencing the same issue, they are known as FPC cables and can be found over internet. You can also ask Arturia support for sending a cable.

Are you sure the USB data +/- cables are well welded?
Have you tried with a software recognizing MIDI (except MCC)? You can try "MIDI Monitor".
Have you tried on a PC using Windows? (or Android or IOS using an USB OTG cable)

Y.

at work now, will try what you suggest (however, my mac doesn't show anything under MIDI setup)
question: I also have a BeatStep (not a pro) connected to the same Mac...can this be causin conflicts or whatever with the Pro?

It should not.

OK, after the USB connector fix and the FFC Cable Temporrray fix the Beatstep works very well in standalone mode...
Still no sign of life on my MAC as MIDI Controller or in MCC...
I have also tried swapping the two D+ and D- cables....no differences...

Do you have a picture of your USB cable welding?
