Impact + Microbrute sync issue
« on: August 28, 2018, 05:58:05 pm »
When syncing my Microbrute to the Impact often times the Microbrute will drone the last note of the sequence played after pressing stop on the Impact. What's the reason of this and is there a way to fix this issue?

Hi svmcvd,
could you please give more details for this case and your setup, in order for me to properly troubleshoot it?
i did some check in 2 manners :

1 - write every step on the drumbrute impact for one instrument (with only midi out cable to microbrute midi in, both set on same midi channel), press play -> all notes were well transmitted and played on the microbrute

2- Use a microbrute sequence and change it's pattern by pressing play on the drumbrute impact, again no issue here.

thanks in advance,

Hi, I only have synced the Microbrute clock to the Drumbrute Impact. The Microbrute is set to external clock sync via MIDI, with the sequencer set up so it starts and stops when I press play and stop on the Drumbrute Impact, and the envelope is set to fast attack, rather fast decay, maxed sustain and maxed release. The Drumbrute Impact just sends the clock signal to the Microbrute, other than that they're set to different MIDI channels. Now often times when pressing stop on the Drumbrute Impact the Microbrute will stop the sequence as expected, but keep sustaining the last note of the sequence. Sometimes the last note stops sounding as expected after pressing stop on the Impact, most times tho it doesn't. I guess it has something to do with the microtiming of the MIDI clock? (I had the same issue when syncing the Microbrute Red to an Akai Tom Cat about two years ago by the way, and wish it was fixed now.) ^^

Adding to that, when described issue happens and I only turn down the sustain fader to stop the Microbrute from sounding, after a few minutes the note will become louder again, and slowly recover to full volume or so.

I think this thread is more related to MicroBrute and should be in the MicroBrute section.

Thanks Germain.

Yeah, might be more of an Microbrute issue than a Drumbrute Impact issue, but as far as I can see nobody from Arturia is bothering the Microbrute part of this forum anymore, so posting my issue there seems senseless.
