The current implementation of the alternating sequence directions sounds off to me somehow.

Currently if you have a sequence it plays the whole thing forward, and then the whole thing backward.

For rhythmic sequences you end up with something like:
1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 4 and 3 and 2 and 1 and 1 and 2....

It ends up sounding a bit like it's hung up on the ends.

It would be beneficial sometimes to skip the last step on the way back (and the way back forward) so you end up with:
1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 3 and 2 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 3 and 2... etc
