Minibrute LFO rate -> BPM
« on: April 16, 2018, 07:01:02 pm »
I picked up a 2s on Saturday and so far I'm super impressed. One thing I tried last night is connecting an LFO to the clock input for the sequencer. Holy Hanna that's fast! It got me curious what the BPM is.

The internal clock on the MB2s goes up to 240BPM.

The MB2s manual states that the LFOs go up to 100Hz, but each cycle steps the clock forward by 1/16th. I believe the BPM count typically corresponds to 1/4 notes. So call that 25Hz per 1/4 note.

25 cycles/second * 60 seconds = 1500 BPM

1500 BPM?! That's bloody fast! Or maybe my math is wrong lol.

I don't know the exact value but yes it can run really fast !

Try clocking it with VCO2 instead :)

Wow. I'm gonna have to try some 64 note patterns clocking with VCO2 and transposed from an external keyboard. Or use VCO2 as the audio source for the sequence and VCO1 as the clock and VCO1's FM input to adjust the speed of the sequence.

I'm sure there's got to be a way to use the sequencer as a 64 step custom waveform, which is sure to sound bonkers.

So many fun experiments with this thing!
