Microbrute Power Supply
« on: December 02, 2017, 05:47:19 pm »
Hi! My power supply for Microbrute is broken. I bought another one online, with same Amp and Watts, doesn't work. Is there a way to buy one on your site that would be exactly like the original? Thanks

I'll go against the grain here and offer a solution from someone with a background in Ham Radio.

The unit requires 12-volts at 1-amp. This is easy to obtain using any number of 12-volt power supplies.
I recommend not using the old (and quite large) wall warts, as they often put out 14-15 volts (or more) at no-load.
Modern switching regulators (like the Microbrute power supply) run at a solid and stable 12-volts.
These are readily available on 'the bay' and amazon.
The power plug is a quite common size, and tip-positive is the most common setup these days.

Just put power to it - noting polarity, and  it'll work just fine.
