Sampling Sounds and Selling them?
« on: March 04, 2018, 10:19:15 pm »
Hi guys,
As a sound designer, I am always looking for new sources of inspiration. I was wondering, if I made sounds with any of the emulated products from Arturia, could I sell those sounds? (not music, but sound like in a sample library).
If so, are there any Arturia instruments excluded from this possibility? If I understand correctly, none of their instruments are sample based? But do they still have proprietary claim over any sounds generated from them?
This may honestly determine whether I plunk down the money for their entire collection or not.
I wouldn't simply being "ripping" sounds either (from presets and whatnot). I would be creating unique sounds by creating custom presets.
Oh, and if we can't sample them, can we sell preset soundbanks?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can sell samples and preset soundbanks.
