Drive keystep play from a master device
« on: February 04, 2018, 02:45:13 pm »
Is it possible to drive the keystep play from a master device?
I connected it via midi to an mpc live but the play on keystep is still not driven by the master device.
Keystep goes midi out to mpc midi in and mpc midi out goes to keystep midi in.

Did you check the mini switches on the back of your keystep are in "MIDI" position? That is easy to overlook. I usually use my Keystep with an (external) e-rm MIDI Clock, and that at least works flawlessly.

Now it works fine.
I switched on the midi mtc option on mpc and all goes fine.
I discovered i can play arpeggiator and sequencer in real time and if i want just the plain notes i play stop on keystep.
Very good idea, if you connect keystep in mtc midi mode you have 3 different ways of using keystep
