Laser Harp sound ?
« on: January 21, 2018, 09:55:52 pm »
Hi

Wow, I'm afraid it takes a long way to master all the secrets of substractive synthesis  ;D.

I'm trying to emulate the famous Jarres's Laser Arp sound made with an Elka Synthex. Although I managed to get a reminiscent sound , but I'm nowhere near it.

I've started with VCO>VCO1 Hard Sync, using a sawtooth wave for VCO1+ Ultrasaw and coarse detuning VCO1.
Mixed both VCO1 with a bit of VCO2 (sawtooth). I also slightly modulated (+22) VCO1 pitch with ENV3, with sharp attack, mid decay, 0 sustain , mid release.

As filter, I was using the 24dB LP Steiner-Parker filter, with cut-off at 15:00h and resonance at 09:00h. I don't remember right now, bit I think that did not modulate the VCF with any source.

VCA's Envelope was sharp in attack, mild delay and release and 0 sustain.

It seems that a bit of flanger in the effects section helped to give a bit of its character.

Any other aideas ?

Greetings
Rafael
