MIDI foot controller implementation
« on: December 25, 2017, 05:17:38 am »
Hi there,
My last support question was answered by José which led me to the purchase of a Morningstarfx MC6 midi foot controller.

My goal is to use my DRUMBRUTE for rhythm accompaniment as a standalone. To do so effectively I need to operate the transports and switch presets with my foot while I play acoustic instruments.
I have spent many hours trying but have made no progress in getting my midi controller to operate anything on my DRUMBRUTE.

For example: In MIDI Control Center with the following settings,
GLOBAL MIDI CH 10/ PLAY Channel 10 / PLAY CC 54

I have a MIDI cable plugged in the Out of my controller to the In of the DRUMBRUTE. I am sending MIDI via channel 10 with CC#54, a VALUE of 0 and PLAY channel 10 on my MIDI controller. I have systematically tried many variations with no success.

I believe if I am successful with just one command all others will follow.

Can you please help me to this end?

Thanks & happy holidays,
Enzo

Hello Enzo.

I'm sorry but it is not possible to remotely trigg the Start / Stop with CCs.
It can be done remotely only if your device sends MIDI Start Stop messages.

Sorry for this inconvenience.

Feel free to get back to me if I can be of any further help.

Best regards
Edouard - Arturia Support

Yes, those messages are sent by the DrumBrute to the USB and MIDI output. They are not interpreted at input side.

Y.
