Outputs Noisy
« on: December 12, 2017, 11:02:30 pm »
Hi Guys,

Just wondering did any of you notice that the MB its outputs are rather noisy?
When I take the stereo outs to my Clarret 8PreX with normal regular unbalanced cables and I crank up a bit the preamps the hiss is very noticeable.... :(
As far as I know the MB its outputs are not balanced or are they ?

Could a pair of other cables do the job or is this something all MBs have ?

Other synths no problem what so ever I just have this with this analog beast.

Looking forward to your replies .

The outputs are not balanced, yes. So depending on your cable length and the electromagnetic smog in your room the cables will create noise.
So better shielded (unbalanced) cables MIGHT improve the situation.

But I find the MB quite noisy, as well, and I have also been wondering. Do you also find the Steiner Filter always lets some sound pass through, even if the VCOs are turned down in the mixer?
