Some kind of Bug between scenes
« on: November 14, 2017, 04:19:30 pm »
Hello , I'm getting what seems like a bug when changing from Scene 1 to Scene 2 . The first pattern (Scene 2) has either parts missing or additional parts from the last sequence of Scene 1. I've Hard reset BSP and reinstalled the firmware but it's still happening  Just wondered if anyone else has had this happen to them or if anyone would like to see if its a bug or not? I've programmed 13 parts(all 4 measures each) for Scene 1 and 15 for Scene 2. When i get to the end of Scene 1 I go to Control and press Scene 2 it flashes then goes to Scene 2 at the end of the bar .but as i said throws a wonky one (all still in time) any ideas? :)

Hi, colinrobot,

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution, but I'm experiencing something very similar, so I wonder if the issues are related. I am also experiencing pattern "bleed" when playing patterns in a chain. Here are my steps to reproduce using the Drum sequencer (pattern numbers are arbitrary--I just so happened to be using these numbers the latest time the issue occured):

1. BSP upgraded to v2.0.0.2 firmware
2. Create 4 measure pattern on Drum 2
*NOTE: I sequenced no steps on the bottom right pad (C 1/32)
3. Create different 4 measure pattern on Drum 3
*NOTE: for pattern 3, I DID sequence every step on the bottom right pad (C 1/32)
4. Create a Scene that chains 2 and 3 together
5. Play the Scene

Expected Result
Pattern 2 plays normally, followed by Pattern 3 playing normally, repeat endlessly/happily

Actual Result
Pattern 2 plays normally, followed by Pattern 3 playing normally, but when Pattern 2 plays again, the last 3 measures of Pattern 2 are permanently replaced by the last 3 (or maybe just last 1) measure of Pattern 3. The Scene continues alternating between 2 and 3, as expected, but Pattern 2 is forever altered.

I haven't found any solutions to this; again, it seems to be the same (or at least incredibly similar) issue colinrobot is experiencing.

Can you tell me if this FW gives you the same behaviour?

Hello, I'm out of town for another day--I'll try to test the firmware tomorrow and report back. Thanks!

Hello, I grec,

Here's what I tested this morning:

1. Firmware remained at v2.0.0.2
2. I recreated the patterns following the steps I posted last month
3. I could not reproduce the bug :(

Then, I upgraded to the firmware you provided and the same issue occurred but with a slight difference: instead of Pattern 2 having overwritten measures, it was Pattern 3 that had the last 3 of its 4 measures overwritten by the first measure of Pattern 2.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi jhischier,
Can you try a reset factory? Be sure to save your patterns before, as everything will be lost.

Regards,
Y.

Hi, after the factory reset and following the steps-to-reproduce, I am not seeing the issue. I'll post again if the issue recurs. Thanks for your help!

Hi colinrobot,
Yes you should try the firmware available in the link. I have updated the file to a newer version today.

ps: It is unofficial and non-fully-tested firmware. Use it at your own risks. Once it will be tested, it will be available on Arturia's website.

Hard reset will put your device as from out of factory (default settings, empty projects). Be sure to backup your projects before.
It should resolve your issues.

Y.

Hello,  I grec Just to say I've just used the Firmware update I D/L the last MSG and it seems to have cleared the problem (unless you have updated it since?)
I know this is a little off topic but will there be any way of chaining the scenes in future updates?
Thanks for all your help with the problem Regards Colin ;D

I don't think so.

I did not understand your last post well. Are you saying it is not working?

Y.
