I don't have a keystep yet, but i'm interested in buying one to do the following:
1/ Connect keystep to computer with ableton using usb
2/ Connect the midi out on the keystep to Octatrack (hardware sampler/seq)
3/ Sync ableton and octatrack (midi clock), via midi out on keystep
4/ Play instruments in ableton with the keystep keys, while the octatrack and ableton are in sync.
I basicaly would like to,use the keystep as a midi controller (note on - off to ableton over usb) and midi interface for syncing ableton with octatrack (over keystep midi) at the same time. On most usb controllers with a midi out this is possible. But the switches on the back of the keystep got me confused. I dont find anything in the manual about it.
