Using .amb files with V Collection 5
« on: March 14, 2017, 02:59:24 pm »
Hi All,

I'm quite new to this community so please bear with me.

I've bought the V Collection 5 software and was trying to load up some presets I'd downloaded in .amb format. From what I've read, these are produced by an earlier version of the V Collection software and need to be converted. When I try to import, the only choice is a .modux extension.

I've downloaded and installed the VC5 Preset Converter but when I run it, it doesn't offer a choice of where to look for the presets and hence it can't seem to find the ones I've downloaded. If it's significant, I'm using Reaper x64 as my DAW, although I have tried to import on both the plugin from within Reaper and the standalone version.

So my question is where do I need to put the downloaded .amb files so the preset converter can find them? Or is it more complicated than that?

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to Arturia forums.

To use the Preset updater/ converter you need to have the old presets as user presets in the old applications to be able to convert them for the new applications.

So if you find third party presets then be sure you can get them for your VC5 version.
