The ability to modulate vco3 from the matrix,
Sequencer to record and transpose from any key,
You can loose the feel having to wright in c !
You can modulate VCO 3 by using one of the four assignable matrix columns.

Good point with the sequencer transposition - would've been nice to have.

Regarding two things: the feature suggestion of more assignable matrix columns and the now "much" requested envelope retriggering/looping:

We have the current suggestions for more columns suggesting 4 pages selected with the 4 assign buttons (details elsewhere). I was just thinking that one possible solution for envelope retriggering (and any other "invisible" mod targets) is to have a (fixed) set of columns representing trigger inputs for the envelopes so that we get a place to assign envelope triggers. For the looping bit, if you assign an envelope to an envelope retrigger column, the retrigging could happen when the release phase ends which would give us both normal looping and sequenced triggering.

For Duo Split mode: ability to swap the filters around, so that the lower part (with sequencer) can use the Steiner Parker and the upper part can use the Ladder.

- More programmable matrix destinations. E.g. pressing the 4 buttons without assigning anything could switch between 4 pages for a total of 16 destinations.

+1 on this!!! For me that would be the most important improvement (of an already very, very impressive synth, admittedly)

I would also love to see:

- The ability to set different lengths for the individual tracks in the sequencer (e.g. the mod track), not only same length for all 4 tracks

With the MB2S out of the bag, and seeing its sequencer, some enhancements to the MxB sequencer wouldn't go amiss. Some suggestions:

- Display the notes on the patch number display, when playing or selecting a step and when holding a Step button and turning the Mod Amount knob to edit the note value for the step

- Hold Accent button while turning the Mod Amount knob to edit the velocity value for the step

- Hold Slide button while turning the Mod Amount knob to edit the gate length for the step, the Gate knob would then be a relative adjustment

- Most definitely fix the MOD button + Mod Amount knob bug (no longer working until you pres Record + Play)

All of this should be available in the Play mode.

The MatrixBrute needs a Sysex protocol so we can have editors and other tools. The protocol should support:

Read and write for:
- High res values for every parameter including the mod matrix
- Values for every sequencer step and row

Remote control for:
- All non-voice parameter buttons and operations, such as those in the sequencer section, save/load etc.

Dump back and forth for:
- Full patch and sequence data

+ 1 on SysEx/complete MIDI implementation!
Experiencing a flow of temporal information now, and in anticipation, and in retrospect.

I have already written my proposals elsewhere but - for simplicity sake - I'll add them here as well:

* Loopable Envelopes
* Buttons as Mod Destination in the matrix
* A generical CV input, not tied to the fixed destinations
* Envelope triggers as Mod Destinations (say, one wants to trigger Env2 using LFO1)

Give us at least three of these things and I think MatrixBrute can seriously win the prize for the best synth ever! 8)

Yes, it is very frustrating to have all these possible modulations and have to limit them to four  :(

Among all, some of the fixed ones are not thoses I would have choosen. For example, I need only to modulate the Ultrasaw and the Metalizer parameters from time to time, while I need always to access the resonance and the LFO rates.
The result is that I often miss some parameters to modulate, but there is 4 that are unused...

I whish I could simply change some of the default destinations with other ones, even before adding more banks.
I am ready to put stickers on the panel !

This is a nice idea-- rather than having additional pages of assignable destinations (or in addition to that), there could be a way to overwrite the default destinations. Not sure how (or if) this could be implemented, but it would be great. I feel the same way about the desirability of modulating say, supersaw versus resonance, LFO speed, or Osc 3 frequency.

Agreed. I  think adding menu diving and multiple pages would take away from the "the knob per function", immediate feel of the MB interface. Some tough choices have to be made to improve functionality...but not generate a bloated, overly complicated UI. So overriding the default mod destinations gets my vote. BTW Osc 3 frequency CAN be selected as a mod destination (even though it's limited because it's a coarse pitch knob. I would love to be able to modulate PW on Osc 3...but let's face it, it's never going to happen.)

No menu diving is needed with the suggested implementation of pressing the 4 assign-buttons without assigning anything to switch between 4 pages. There are even LEDs in those buttons that aren't used, and those could indicate which of 4 pages is selected.

There is nothing available in the UI to easily support re-programming of the fixed columns. It would also be messy with no indication of whether a a column has been reprogrammed or what the destination is.

OK you convinced me. I'have had my MB for two weeks now, playing around the clock and programming the hell out of it. My wife can hear me across the house gigling and bursting into joyful expletives...BUT it has become quite clear now: most of the time, I ran out of programmable mod destinations. The one absolutely essential update the MB needs is indeed more user-defined mod destinations. And your proposed way of doing it is the right one. I hope that there is enough memory left in the machine to accomplish that. Hell, just one extra page of 4 destinations would be an enormous improvement...but let's hope for 4. Arturia: this update can take the MB where no other (non-modular) synth has gone before, DO IT!!!

Let me add:
Expression pedals send to MIDI out as CC4/CC3 (as it should be)
Preset viewer: since I unfortunately think we'll never see an actual editor, it'd nice to have a preset viewer at least, so I can load a patch, see how it is done and map it knob by knob if I really want to. This is great for learning by reverse engineering.

I have officially submitted this feature request (as suggested by Dr Justice):

Add more User-defined Mod destinations such that 4 pages of 4 destinations can be accessed by pushing buttons 13, 14, 15 and 16 (which apparently possess built-in LEDs) to indicate which one is active.

If, like me, you dream about this feature, send a similar request to Arturia,s support! Or send your other requests for new features and bug fixes. I am sure this is more effective than whining and accusing the company of this and that.
