Forest by the Mountain - Album for Tangerine Dream Lovers!
« on: November 29, 2016, 07:09:30 pm »
If you do not like Tangerine Dream you may not like this, but if you do like them you might like this

This album is inspired from TD's style and sound from the late 70's through out the early 80's, and in classical TD style, tracks blend into each other.

All tracks, except drums and bass, are Solina sounds.

Please let me know what you think, thanks!

Remixed Overhauled Version!

Lots of little changes on this one.

1) Identified some congested areas and removed parts (MIDI note pieces).
2) Other areas that may have felt congested, have parts mixed down in volume.
3) Shortened and moved some parts. Extended a few parts.
4) I don't do live recordiings, as I really cannot play any instruments. I compose by putting notes one at a time on a MIDI sheet, and have previously not manually put in any Velocity information. But in an attempt to give the whole album a bit more soul (feeling / live experience), I added random on-the-fly "humanize" (timing and velocity) to all tracks. Least on bass tracks (two and eigth) plus percussion track.
5) Also for same reason as above, I added a sweeping filter for a bit of variety, mix 75% dry/25% wet, one bass tracks (two and eigth). Different filters on each track

I like this. I was a bit of an early Tangs fan, back in the day. I have done some similar works in the past, but just for fun and never to the extent of a whole album. Thanks for sharing.

PS - There is a break in the audio around 14:35
