I posted this problem in the technical questions forum, but I was very surprised to get no answer by arturia. The problem affects a very basic function of a MIDI sequencer. So I hope I will get support here.
Even with maximum gate lenght the MIDI note-off is set too early after the note-on. So legato is impossible, long drum notes are cutted off.
I attached a very short mp3 file, to show the significant difference in sound. In the first four bars you hear the bass drum triggerd by the Beatstep Pro via MIDI, the second four bars you hear the same bass drum played by my DAW.
This problem affects live recording and step sequencing.
Is this a beatstep problem, or my mistake?
Is there a solution?
If this is known by arturia, what will you do?
