Is it possible to map the shift button?
« on: September 17, 2016, 05:49:27 pm »
Holler y'all, I've been toying around with my BeatStep, MIDI Control Center and Remotify (http://remotify.io) in an attempt to create some kind of control surface for Ableton Live. I managed to map the encoders of the BeatStep to the Volume and Pan controls in Ableton and the pads to Mute and Arm buttons. This supports up to 8 tracks, with tracks 1 - 8 running from left to right along the BeatStep. I also mapped the Level/Rate encoder to the Master Volume and the Play and Stop buttons to the relevant transport controls. This is all pretty neat for sure. That said, I'd really like to use one of the other buttons such as the Shift button to load up another bank of 8 tracks (assuming that the current Ableton session has more than 8 tracks). However, Shift, Chan, Store, Recall, Ext Sync and Cntrl/Seq are all unclickable in MIDI Control Center. Which brings me here... Is it possible to map any of these buttons? Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
